Busy, busy bee!

Nataly Lemus Photography reviews

This is probably the busiest year we've had since we've been photographing weddings. Scratch that! It is definitely the busiest year we've had and we've been doing this for a long time now! I feel totally blessed to have work, to have the amazing clients we have, and to get to photograph so many people. I love photography and I love weddings, so it's no wonder I love what I do! The only bummer is that it means that I barely have time to blog anything. There are so many wedding and engagement sessions that I wish I could share but time doesn't permit. You can add maternity sessions and newborn sessions (a lot of our couples are having babies, now a days) to that now and you have a very busy Nataly Lemus Photography duo! And the year's not over! Let me show a few of the things I am working on, just finished working on, or just wanted to share with you guys!

And I had to throw an itty, bitty baby to mix because he is so darn cute!

I can't help it, I love food.

Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

I love food...and I love eating. I also love, love, love taking photos of food, especially with my iphone. I had no idea, though. You see, a few days ago Art, my sister, and I were eating out. When the food came out, I quickly got my phone and took a photo of my plate. The guy next to us asked me "are you one of those people that take pictures of everything they eat and then put it on instagram?" My first thought was raaaandom and then I quickly said no. After all, I barely even use instagram! At that point I really thought I was saying the truth. Yesterday, though, I was going through my photos to delete some of them and realized that I do in fact take a lot of pictures of what I eat. It doesn't end there, I also take photos of what other people with me are eating. Hhhmmm...I wonder if that's annoying to other people? I have no reason for taking the photos, really. I don't upload them anywhere. I don't text them to anyone. I don't even go back to look at them. I just take the photo to take it, I guess. Is that weird? Well, I don't know if it's weird...or annoying, but I do know that I'm going to have to start deleting some of those images! Now that I am aware of my problem, it might be dangerous to have constant reminders of all the food I eat and consider delicious enough to take photos of...just typing about it is making me hungry! :P Do any of you like taking photos of your food? Your significant other's food? Or maybe even what the person next to you is eating? :P I know I'm not alone because from what this guy told me, people on instagram do it all the time! Maybe I'll join them so I can at least say I have a purpose for it! :P

Happy Wednesday! I hope at some point you get to fill your tummy with some yummy food! While you're at it, take a photo...or two!

Disneyland & California Adventure Photo Session

Orange county photographer family pictures pics

Hope & Mike ~ Anniversary!

Disneyland & California Adventure

Anaheim, California

Let me start this blog post by saying that I feel blessed to be able to photograph couples in love. I feel 2 times blessed when a couple decides they want us to photograph not just their wedding, but their whole love story. Mike and Hope have been photographed by us 2 times before I received an e-mail from Mike telling me he wanted to surprise Hope with a photo session for their anniversary. If you haven't seen them on our blog before, they did their engagement session and wedding photos at Disneyland. They even got to go into the theme park before it opened! That was amazing! Mike planned out months in advance how we would carry out the surprise. He even made sure to have Hope's hair and makeup done professionally by Carina of Flawless Faces. How sweet is that?! He thought of it all!

The surprise was a total success and we got to go back to a place that is SO Mike, Hope, and the Nataly Lemus Photography duo :) Disneyland! We started our day at California Adventure and covered a huge part of it, which I am happy about because it added to everything we've photographed with them already at Disney and California Adventure. We then headed to Disneyland and went to spots we had not yet covered. For their engagement session it was soooo hot and I can't say this time it wasn't hot but we were so used to heat that it was a piece of cake! At the end we even got a rainbow as a treat! That was perfection for a beautiful day spent with two people we totally adore!

I decided to share more photos at California Adventure since for their other sessions it has been mostly Disneyland. If you want to see their other sessions CLICK HERE and HERE

Behind the scenes:

This is when Hope realized what the surprise was

This goes to show that it's not the camera that makes a great picture, it's the person taking it!

Mike: Thank you for making us part of something as special as your anniversary. It's an honor to get to document your love. It means the world to me that you came to me again because I truly wouldn't want it any other way. Hope: It's been over 4 years since you first contacted us about your wedding! Wow! How time flies! Thank you for always being the sweetest with me. I usually get sad after a wedding is over because I won't have as much contact with the couple anymore, but I am so happy that you still let us know you remember us. I feel like brides will forget our blog but you always make me feel extra special by leaving some blog love and letting me know you have always rooted and continue to root for us! I really hope that never changes! Tons of hugs for you both! xoxo Nataly Lemus Photography reviews disneyland photo shoot

I am a Godmother!

This post is long overdue! Back in August my cousin, Steph, asked me if Art and I would accept to be Godparents to her son. I can't tell you how surprised and honored I felt! Of course there was no way I would say no! Art is already Godfather to his nephew and his friend's son, but I had not had the privilege to be someone's Godmother. The fact that my cousin asked me to be her first child's Godmother means the world to me. A few days later my cousin, her hubby, and my nephew came over. He had just started to walk back in July so Steph had us close our eyes while he came over to us and handed us two cards. The cards asked "Would you be my Godmother?" and "Would you be my Godfather?" Each one had a movie attached. Art got The Godfather and I got Cinderella. Check the cards out below. I thought it was the cutest thing ever! Especially because they were handed to us by our nephew!

A few weeks later we were ready for the baptism. On the morning of the baptism I got really sick. I had major stomach and back pain. It was so bad that I had to be in and out of hot showers to help maintain the pain as low as possible. I could barely walk from the room to the shower, because the pain was so crippling. I can't even tell you how scared I was that I would not be able to make it to the baptism. There was no way, though, that I would not go. I sucked it up and showed up bright and early. At first the pain was so bad I wanted to cry but I am so glad that I made it and was able to baptize my nephew. I wish I was good with words so that I could explain how honored I feel to be my nephew's godmother. It's a role that I will take seriously and will always appreciate.

(Don't judge the makeup-less face, I had no strength to put on anything but eyeliner on my lids :/ I really debated putting these photos on here because I look atrocious but I really wanted to share this special moment with you guys)

To my Godson: Your mommy and I were raised together, played together as little girls, learned what a friend was through our own friendship, planned our quinces together, stood next to each other at each other's wedding, we've been there through it all. This, however, is the most special of it all. I feel honored to be your godmother. Even though your parents are doing an amazing job at raising you, I will do anything that is needed to help out. I will be there to spoil you with toys, to read with you (I'm especially proud that you love to read as much as your nina), to help with homework, to defend you, to teach you Spanish, to be silly, and to give you all the love a tia/nina can give. Like I said before you were even born, we as a family, will always protect you, care for you, and love you. We are so proud to be part of your life and we would love to see you grow up into an amazing man, but we want to enjoy you as a little one first. Love you! Nataly Lemus Photography blog

Today I have a Venice Beach engagement session to share with you. Flora and Dave are from Canada but they came down to California on vacation and we were able to do their e-session. They are one of the sweetest couples ever! We loved showing them Venice Beach while we photographed them. I want to show you more images of the little hidden parts of Venice Beach but I had to include a beach shot because I know that Flora and Dave will love that ;)

Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Photos

Connie & Jason ~ Married!

Rancho Las Lomas Wedding

Silverado, California

A few months ago we had the pleasure of photographing Connie & Jason's wedding at Rancho Las Lomas. It's one of my favorite venues, for sure! I love all the greenery, orange orchards, and especially the animals! Who can say they had a tiger at their wedding? Connie & Jason can!

I loved how Connie & Jason incorporated their love for food with the rustic feel of the venue. They even had a farmer's market style cart full of veggies and fruits. At the end of the night their guests were able to fill up a bag with vegetables and fruits.

Check out how beautiful and personal this summer wedding was: Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Photos Photographer
