Lakers - Playoff Time!

Lakers Playoffs Photo

Lakers Playoff 2012 NBA Playoffs Nataly Lemus Photography
Because the Lakers have not made an appearance on my blog for a very long time, I felt that as a true Laker fan, this post was a must! This season has obviously been a whirlwind of craziness for the Lakers. I'm sure the Lakers didn't enjoy having so many games back to back. I enjoyed getting to see that many games so close to each other but I hate that the season was so short. Either way, it's time for playoffs and I couldn't be more excited! Have to love basketball...but you have to love the Lakers more! Wishing our Lakers the best of luck!

Covina Engagement Session

Michelle & Diego ~ Engaged!
Covina, California

We had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Diego. They chose to do their e-session at the place where they met. They had very specific spots where they wanted to do their photos and we were happy to oblige. Of course, we also had an input here and there as to spots that we liked. My favorite part was definitely that they incorporated Michelle's dad's vintage car. I loved seeing how proud her papa looked as they were taking pictures with his prized possession. Definitely one of the highlights of the day! Here are some of my faves:

Diego asked that we recreate how they met. He wanted a photo of his view and her view. The day they met, Diego saw Michelle walk into 3 Vino's in Covina. The rest? It's history :)

Elysian Park Engagement Session

Jenny & Eric ~ Engaged!
Elysian Park - Los Angeles, California

Jenny and Eric had their engagement session at a park that is right up the street from Dodgers Stadium. Their wedding is coming up pretty soon so it was great getting to know them a little better before their big day.

Let's start with my favorite image of the day:

Jenny and Eric offered to climb a tree. At first I thought they were joking, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have to say that was pretty cool! I pprobably would have managed to fall off the tree but Jenny was a total pro!

A little bit of this & a little bit of that

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday. Friday is just around the corner! To many that makes them happy because their work week is almost over but to me it makes me happy because it means I have to go work :) Although I like working from home editing images and everything else that comes along with wedding photography, I absolutely LOVE going out to photograph weddings. Sounds cheesy, but it really does complete me :) Can't wait for this weekend's wedding!

While we're at it, I thought I would share other things, that although they don't make me as happy as photography does, I am really liking right now.

Let's start with The Hunger Games.

I must have been living under a rock because I never heard about the trilogy until a few weeks ago. A lot of people were posting on facebook how they were going to go see the movie. I don't think I ever saw the trailer for the movie so I wasn't really interested in watching the movie. Until everyone was raving about it, that is. That's when I found out it was based on a book and decided I had to read the first book and see what all the hype was about. When there's a movie based on a book, I would much rather read the book first before watching the movie because I feel like the book fills in the gaps for you and makes the movie more interesting. Plus, one of these two things will happen: 1. You will hate the book and you'll know not to waste your money on the movie OR 2. you will love the book and it will make the movie that much more exciting. The latter was the end result after I read the book.

I didn't think I would like the book...just like I was 100% sure that Twilight was not the saga for me, but, of course, I ended up falling for both. Darn it, I should just give up and admit to myself that I am a 20 something year old that loves all books catered towards teens :P Nothing wrong with that, right? Just in case I will go and find the most mentally stimulating book I can find...but I can assure you it will sit on my nightstand until I am done with the other two books of the Hunger Games trilogy!

Another thing that has been making my little heart content? Nail polish. Yes, a simple thing like nail polish can totally change my mood. Is that odd? But seriously, if I am having a drabby day, I pull out a bright color, give myself a manicure, and it makes my day a little brighter. It's almost therapeutic to give myself a manicure after a long day. Since my obsession over nail polishes started I have only gotten a manicure professionally done a handful of times. I'd much rather do it myself. Plus, it saves me me some money! The only downside? As much as I love getting creative with nail polish and designs, I suck at it! But I don't care, I still try :P Art on the other hand is not a big fan of my nail polish addiction. For one, he hates the smell and swears up and down that it's toxic. Also, I think he is not too happy that my nail polish rack took over the top of his dresser :/ I'm slowly wearing him down, though :P

[Disclaimer: I don't think I'm good at it, at all. I am no pro at doing nail designs, manicures, or even applying nail polish. I am just a girl that loves doing her nails.]

Don't let there be a holiday because I will totally theme out my nails! Yes, I think I might need to go to a nail polisher anonymous meeting :P but I don"t want to!

All the photos above are of my left hand because the right one always comes out horrible...not that the left one is that great :P

So how about you guys? Are you into the Hunger Games? Or nail polish? Or both?

Laguna Beach Wedding Ceremony

Vanessa & John ~ Married!
Laguna Beach, California

Vanessa and John had a heartfelt and intimate wedding ceremony. It was a small and short ceremony but full of love. Their family and friends lined up on each side creating an aisle for Vanessa to walk down. Then once she had walked down the aisle they encircled them and they were all part of the ceremony. It was the first time we photographed such a small ceremony but it's probably one of my all time favorite! Vanessa and John wrote their own vows and they were so touching. At one point both of them got chocked up and it was beautiful to see the love they have for each other.

I am so happy that I got to be part of capturing the start of such a beautiful marriage. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs.!
