Birthday Constest -Only for our brides!

I am so sorry I kept you lovely ladies (and gents) waiting! I was supposed to post this on my birthday on Saturday through Art's phone. Unfortunately Art's phone fell into a pool of red clay mud. Sucks! We were at a spa inside the mud pool and he was taking photos with his iPhone, per my and my cousins' request. Then as he was going to show my cousin the photo...SPLASH!...it fell in. We didn't get back until yesterday so I barely had time to post. There's a birthday recap post coming up during the week.

Moving on to the contest! We e-mailed all our brides last week with a contest just for them. The couple who sent us the most creative happy birthday photo would win a free photo shoot!

I want to thank everyone who participated! I can't believe how many of you sent it a photo! I loved them all. They seriously made my birthday that much more special. I have the best brides. Ever!

I loved going through all the images. I am happy to say that I now know most of my brides' fur babies :) Pretty cool since I won't get to meet them at the wedding!

It was soooooooo difficult choosing just one winner, but there was one couple's photo that made me smile every time I saw it.

Sooooooooooo, the winner is............

Nicole & Jay! They even had a cupcake! Love it! Now can you guys fed-ex the cupcake? I'm kidding! Sort-of...

This is them on their wedding day :)

Congrats you guys!

In honor of my birthday, I will be giving away a free portrait session to someone who really needs/wants it.

Please e-mail me a short entry telling me why you want this portrait session. You can also nominate someone you feel should get this session. Please attach a photo of the couple/family/person that is approximately 600 pixels on the longest side. I am looking for a family/couple/person who has overcome great odds. Someone who might be going through some tough times and will really appreciate something like this. Or perhaps someone who simply cannot afford to pay for a portrait session.

Please e-mail your entry to info@natalylemus.com by Friday, September 25, 2009. I will announce the winner by September 30, 2009.

You or the person nominated needs to be able to do the session within 60 days from winning the free session.

Good luck!

What's going on?

Hi All! I wanted to keep you up to date with some of the things going on with me. Maybe I should try doing this every Wednesday...we'll see!

Guess what's coming up! My birthday! Yes, this month I will be celebrating my birthday. Woop woop! We're trying to decide what to do. Any ideas?

Talking about my birthday! In honor of it, I will have a few contests coming up :) Be sure to check back next Monday for that! I promise they will be good! You might win a portrait session! There will also be a contest specifically for past brides and current brides. The info for that one will be e-mailed to you by Monday. If you don't get the e-mail and want to be included, please e-mail me!

On another note, I've been thinking of featuring other wedding vendors on my blog. What do you think about that? A lot of our brides ask us for recommendations so it might be a good idea to post some of them here. I think I will try it out for a bit and see how you guys like it.

I think this is it for now. I'll leave you with a teaser from a recent wedding. Last night I was counting how many weddings I still have to blog and there are about 12! Can you believe that?! Pretty soon you will have a lot of eye candy :)

Anyway, don't forget to come back Monday to check out the contest! Come back before that, too!

Okay, here's the teaser:

Hope & Mike ~ Engaged!

Anaheim, California

I always tell my clients that when choosing a location for their e-session to think about a location that has special meaning for both of them. Mike and Hope chose Disneyland. I definitely think they chose the perfect location. Not only do they know the park like the back of their hand ( I would have been lost as soon as I first stepped foot inside) but they also got engaged there!

Mike and Hope were power walkers. I have never been so tired after an e-session like I was after this one. After the e-session Hope said they walked slow for us. I can't even imagine what walking fast with them would have been! Thanks to them, though, we covered a big part of Disneyland and California Adventure. It was really fun seeing so many parts of Disneyland that I completely forgot about and some I didn't even know existed! What was even more fun was having one of our couples lead the way :) As some of you know, I love color. Disneyland did not disappoint! I especially loved Toontown! I was in color heaven there!

Mike and Hope: I had a lot of fun walking around Disneyland and getting to know you guys better :) I can't wait to see you guys again! I know you really want to see some teasers, so I'll stop typing and start posting images :)

I know the shot below looks like I had Mike whisper into Hope's ear, but I didn't. I don't know what he was whispering, but it made for a cute shot :) I wonder what was he whispering... Okay, I'll stop being nosy now :P

Jessi & Adam ~ Married!

First United Methodist Church
Pasadena Museum of California Art
Pasadena, California

Jessi & Adam had a beautiful wedding in Pasadena. It was nice to see everything come together so beautifully. Everything was so chic, from the color scheme to the bridesmaid shoes to the venue.

No matter how beautiful the wedding was, though, the most important part was how much love radiated that day. I met Jessi and her parents at another wedding we were documenting a while back. Right off the bat I could tell they were all great people. I was so happy when I got an e-mail from Jessi letting me know her and Adam were engaged and were interested in us documenting their wedding.

I am so glad they went with us because they are one of the sweetest couples ever :)

Jessica & Adam: I feel so blessed to have met you and your family. Thank you for being so great. Thank you for the laughter. Thank you for the good time. Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your wedding. To Jessi's mom, thank you for the sweet note! To Jessi's dad, you should get the best dad award!

Okay, okay, on with the photos! I had such a hard time choosing what images to use because there were so many I absolutely love! I might have to do a part 2! ;)

Lets start with the groom:

I like this photo in color

Art likes it in b&w

Art got the shoe shot below

My shoe shot (Art wins)

I love this shot of Jessi's dad! Candids are the only way to get something so real as this.

I love this candid Art got!

While the ladies are being very "Sex in the City"

the guys are doing this:

The centerpieces were beautiful!

A closer look

Jessi, Adam and Jessi's dad after his toast. He is such a sweet dad!
