Feliz Cumpleaños, Mami

Today would have been my Mother's birthday. She would have been 55 years old. I can only imagine what she would have looked like. Would she have any gray strands of hair? Would she look 55? Would she ask me when will I give her grandchildren? So many unanswered questions.

My Mother is one of my greatest joys, but at the same time she is one of my greatest pains. 10 days ago it was exactly 13 years since she passed. She was about to turn 42 years of age. I can't ever fully describe the emptiness I felt that day and I won't try to.

I planned to tell you more about my mom, but to be entirely honest, at the moment I can't. You think that as years pass by you learn how to deal with the passing of a parent, but it's not that easy. Some years are easier, some are harder. I guess it all depends what stage of your life you are in.

If you have your mom in your life, give her a hug, call her, tell her you love her every single day.

I don't want this post to be sad, so I'll share a photo of my mom that always makes me smile :) In this photo she was a year older than I am now. What a fashionista! :)

You're right when you say that it's not easy dealing with a parents loss. I don't know what that feels likebut just thinking about it makes me get a knot in my throat. I don't think I would ever get over something like that. Stay strong today girl. Think about all the beautiful memories you have of your mom. Hugs and kisses to you.

Happy Birthday Nataly's Mom!!!
Reading what you wrote simply makes me Love & Appreciate my mom More than what I thought I already did. As soon as she gets home I am going to give her a BIG HUG*, tell her I love her, and tell her why I did that... Beacuse of you, and beacuse I take her presence for granted. =)

Happy Birthday to your mom, she was so beautiful!! Thanks for reminding us to hug our parents, it seems we never fully appreciate them until they are no longer with us.

Aw.. Happy birthday to your mom Nataly. You being the only daughter, must be VERY hard on you. Like you said, so many unanswerd questions. From you previous postings, it seems like your dad has taken well care of you. Of course it doesn't compare to the care your mother would give you, but he tries. I am sure she is watching you from heaven every single day. And although I don't know you, from the pictures I have seen of you, you look like your mom!! stay strong.

I know this does not make it any better but be proud of yourself because I know your mom would be proud of you and the love you have for her. That's the only thing a mom asks for - their child's love - and you continue to give her that. You are a good person and it shows in the amount of love you have for your mother and the way you remember and keep her in your thoughts even after she has passed. Like I said she would be very proud of the love and respect you have for her and for caring and remembering her even though so many years have passed and you were young. She will always be there with you as long as you think about her. *hugs*

By the way she was beautiful!
