Coming soon...

I have a few posts coming up. To keep you updated, here are two images of what's to come :)

Awesome engagement session at Plazita Olvera

Beautiful wedding with tons of gorgeous details! They asked that I focus a lot on the children and so I did! Regardless, I always do so because children always do the cutest things!

Check back soon for the posts!

Amy & Hanssel (Part Two)

Hermosa Beach, California

Art posted the images he captured at Amy and Hanssel’s engagement session, so now it’s my turn! But, of course, let me tell you more about Amy and Hanssel before I post my images :)

When Amy and Hanssel hired me last year, their wedding seemed like forever and a day away! I can’t believe how fast it seems to be approaching us now! They will be getting married this summer at beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I'm sure their destination wedding is going to be off the hook!

Amy and Hanssel chose Hermosa Beach for their engagement session because that’s where they would hang out all the time when they first started dating. They even brought a photo to show me! As we were walking through the outskirts of the pier, Amy and Hanssel were telling Art and me how they met and how Hermosa Beach played a part in their first stage of dating. As they talked to us about their first date, where they would hang out, etc., they always kept looking at each other adoringly. I’m pretty sure it was like reliving those days to them because they were all smiles!

Amy & Hanssel: Thank you so much for being so cooperative, walking to wherever our hearts desired and for being so open!

This is my favorite! I love it!

This is the spot where Sharkeez would have been. Too bad it's not there anymore because that's where Amy and Hanssel would hang out all the time. I like how the Sharkeez logo is behind them on the wall. At least it's some type of reminder :)

Amy, you said you needed a new photo of Hanssel as wallpaper for your computer so here are my two faves.

Here's one of you because you know he wants one, too ;)

Amy & Hanssel ~ Engaged (Part 1)

Hermosa Beach, California

Nataly asked me to post some of the images I captured at Amy and Hanssel's engagement session. Like I said before, I am not a good blogger so I'll rather show you what I am better at, photography.

Nat will be posting more images from Amy and Hanssel's engagement session.

Amy & Hanssel - Thanks for the fun time. Hanssel, I put to good use the tips you gave me for Vegas.

Fabbie & Jorge ~ Engaged!

Long Beach, California

When Fabbie and I were in talks about her engagement session she told me that her fiancĂ©, Jorge, was pretty shy in front of the camera and that he might be nervous. I told her not to worry because I would make him feel comfortable. Well, when I met with them in Long Beach for their engagement session it turned out that the nervous one was Fabbie! I am not talking about just a little nervousness, but REALLY nervous, which is understandable since most people are not used to having someone following you with a camera. Lucky for me that Fabbie’s nervousness revealed itself with giggles and smiles!

I made sure to start off where there were not too many people. I get a point for that because sure enough, Fabbie and Jorge were very comfortable in front of the camera within minutes. By the time the session ended 2 hours later it seemed they even forgot I was holding a huge camera right next to me.

I loved that Fabbie and Jorge incorporated their personalities into the shoot by bringing a few items. Not only that, but they were not shy to ask for a certain image they wanted me to take, which they saw on my website.

When we got ready to say our goodbye’s Fabbie thanked us for making her feel so at ease. By her letting me know that we were able to make her feel comfortable, I know we did a good job :)

Like I’ve said before, I love engagement sessions because that is when I can get to know the couple better. I can find out if you are shy, nervous, what makes you feel comfortable, etc. When I am done with the e-session I can’t help but be even more excited to photograph the wedding. I really leave an e-session feeling way more close to my couple.

Fabbie & Jorge: Thank you so much for being so open and trying everything despite being nervous! You guys rocked the session. I can't wait for the wedding! I am sure you will be total pros by then :)

I noticed that when I said "this is just a test shot," Fabbie and Jorge would just relax and act silly. Sooooooo, from then on I kept taking "test shots" and got some awesome images :P Shoot! I let out my secret ;P

Fabbie asked me to take this shot because she liked a similar image on my website. They even named the shot "peak-a-boo!" I like that!

Fabbie & Jorge love their Gameboy DS so they wanted to incorporate them. I love it when couples personalize their e-session.

'Til the next time, Vegas!

Art and I had planned to stay in Las Vegas longer, but, unfortunately, my ankle is not cooperating :( I will be back in Los Angeles tomorrow and I will be returning all e-mails and phone calls.

I am so happy that I went to WPPI. I learned so much, met so many fabulous photographers and got to see some old friends. What more could I ask for?

As a photographer I strive to keep learning. If you ask me, there is always something new to learn! After indulging in everything photography, I bring back with me new ways to take my business to a new level, ways to work more efficiently and even some amazing new products to offer to my amazing clients!

Here are some more images from Las Vegas:

Everything sparkles in Las Vegas!

Hanging out with the girls! :)
(Left to Right) Rowena Curtis, Melissa Koehler, Melissa McClure, Alyssa, Jeannette Sanchez and yours truly!

We asked a couple to take this photo of us. I'm glad we did because this is the only photo we have together from our trip. You would think that with approx. 10,000 photographers at WPPI we would have thought about asking one of them to snap a shot of the two of us! :P I guess we were too busy with everything going on.

Vegas, baby!

Like I told you guys, Art and I are at Las Vegas for WPPI. We almost cancelled our trip due to my fracture, but I am glad we did not because there is so much to learn here. Not only that, but I got to see many of my friends and I have made some new ones as well :) There are still many photographers I want to run into, but it's kind of hard since there are literally thousands of photographers all over the Las Vegas strip. It also sucks that I can't walk for too long before I have to go back to the hotel and rest, but at least we're here! :)

I promise to post a few shots from last night's Lovecat Photographer's Party when I get back home. I will also be going to another party tonight and I'll post some photos of that! Photographers sure know how to party, don't you agree?!

Here are just a few images we got the last couple of days.

New York, New York in Vegas

Art got a shot of me before we left to last night's party

Here's a shot I got of him at the Orleans Casino

This is what Art calls my "game face." I am just concentrating!

I will try and blog from there :)

Mayra & Donovan

Since Nataly is not feeling well, I (Art) will be taking over for her and posting until she feels better.

Unlike Nat, I am not good at the whole blog thing, so I'll keep this short and simple.

Enjoy Mayra and Donovan's engagement photos.

This one is Nataly's favorite

She also said to tell you this is her other favorite and to put a smiley at the end (that's so Nataly) :)

I got this shot as we were waiting for the elevator.

The Mission Inn in Riverside was the perfect place for Mayra and Donovan's engagement session, since that is where they will be getting married. The architecture of the Mission Inn was more than we could ask for. There was not one shot that did not have an awesome looking background. It was fun finding ways to incorporate the architecture of the Mission with every shot. Although, it was not hard since the Mission does not lack beauty.

We're looking forward to the wedding. Thanks, Donovan & Mayra.

Bad news! Last night Art and I decided to go for a quick trip to 7-11, but it became a long trip to the ER! Yup, that's right, the ER!

While Art was warming up the car, I looked for my sweater. As soon as I found it I flew out the door and as I was rushing down the stairs...BAM! I fell. More like, I fell...rolled...and landed on my side. As I got up my toes were immediately tingling and that was it for me. The pain was excruciating. Instead of going to 7-11 we headed to the ER :( The good thing is that they immediately gave me meds to TEMPORARILY take the pain away. The bad thing is that I was there for about 14 hours! After they did some x-rays it turned out my ankle was fractured. I did not need the x-rays to know that! The swelling and bruising was enough for me to know! I never knew there were so many shades of purple! There is also a mean cut on the my left side of my leg...not cute!

I have to keep a splint on my ankle for about a week or two. I've pretty much had my leg elevated all day today...not fun.

Thankfully I have a sweet husband who takes care of me so well. However, he has a bad habit of photographing or, in his words, documenting my pain!

Here are some shots he took when we got home.

Please excuse my makeup-less sad face and the x-mas pj pants, they were the only clean pants I had at the moment and they are the ones I went to the ER with :P At least I had just waxed my legs!

Also excuse the funky foot! It's swollen, bruised and not doing well :(

I will be returning e-mails within the next couple of days.

I will get to the engagement sessions post as soon as I feel a bit better.

Behind the camera

I am editing some of the photos I will be blogging from the engagement session and saw these two images us and thought it would be nice to share with you. You don't really see too many images of Art and I hard at work, so here you go!

That bag Art is holding actually belongs to Mayra, the bride to be we were photographing :p Look good on him!
