Marisa & Ruben ~ Just Because!

Union Station
Los Angeles, California

Back in August of 2007 I photographed Marisa & Ruben's wedding reception.

I am very grateful to Marisa because she has believed in me 100%. She booked me back when all I had was a Yahoo website and only a few images to go on there. Not exactly the best portfolio, if I do say so myself! :) She believed in my potential and gave me a chance. Even when I doubted myself, she believed in me and was not afraid to say so. There are many things I am thankful for in my business and one of them is crossing paths with Marisa. She unknowingly helped bring out the confidence I needed, for that I am grateful.

Wow! I can't believe it has been over a year since she first contacted me to book me for her wedding. Time sure flies!

Now with with quite a load of weddings (including their wedding) and portrait sessions under my belt, I was so excited and honored to photograph Marisa and Ruben once again. We met at Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. What an awesome place for a photo shoot! All the images came out amazing! Of course, Marisa and Ruben made it easy for me. They walked all over Union Station and tried everything I asked.

Below are just some of my favorite images from the shoot. I will be posting some more images soon. I had so many favorites I have to divide them into two posts!

This is officially my favorite place for portrait sessions! It's so diverse that it seems like we shot in more than one location. I can't wait to show you some more images from this amazing shoot!

Happy Birthday to my blogging!

I can't believe it's 1 year since I first started blogging! It really does not seem like a whole year has passed by!

I just went back through ALL my posts and it was really touching to read all my adventures in wedding photography and random events I blogged about. It's nice to be able to go back and read all of my entries. At first I was not too sure about starting a blog, but now I am so happy I did!

I want to thank everyone who has left me comments. It means so much to me! And to those who do not comment, what are you waiting for?! :)

Here is the very first photo I ever blogged:

Rebecca & Jason ~ Married!

Rebecca and Jason had a beautiful afternoon wedding. As the night rolled in so did their guests. By the time the ceremony was about to start, the venue was overflowing with bubbly family and friends.

Here are a few of my favorite. I will post a few more during the week.

Rebecca and her Mother-in-Law made the centerpieces so I made sure to get a lot of photos for them.

Rebecca's son giving mommy a kiss after walking with her down the aisle.

Rebecca could not help, but get teary eyed during their vows.

What do the boys do while the grown-ups dance? They go to the bar and watch the game, of course!

The first dance.

A big thanks to Marlin Munoz who recommended me to Rebecca and Jason!

Union Station

Thankfully today I had the energy to get out of bed because I had an awesome shoot at Union Station! We ended the session right on time! Right when I walked through the door of my house, it started pouring!

Here are some shots Art got of me hard at work.

DISCLAIMER: I am sick! I normally don't look don't even have a word for it!

I am not just laying there! I promise that there is a camera in front of me! lol

I can't wait to show you all the awesome shots we got at Union Station!

Getting better

I hope that over the weekend I can get myself in better shape because these past two days have been rough. I promise to give you longer posts as soon as I feel better!

Now, I'm off to sleep.

I literally dropped into bed when I got home. Since then I slept and slept and slept. Now that I woke up it feels like my head is 3 times its size!

I am sorry to make this such a short blog entry, but I have to return to my pack of tissue paper and my cup of Theraflu :(

I have a winner!

J'aime was the winner of my second giveaway this year!!! She was the 50th email I received!!! Congrats to J'aime and her fiance! I will be photographing their engagement session.

To everyone else who e-mailed me, I thank you for reading my blog and participating. It means a lot to me :)

To not have this be a picture-less blog entry, here are some images I took with the iPhone at the last wedding I shot. I had fun scouting the place.

Another chance to win!

I did not realize until just now that I did not blog yesterday! You know what that means, right?!

Another lucky blog reader will get a free engagement session or portrait session. If you've ever e-mailed me or left a comment on my blog, you can try and win.

How? Just e-mail me and tell me why you should win. The 50th person to e-mail me wins. You can e-mail me up to three times.

I will let you know tomorrow night who the winner is.

Now on to the blog entry I intended to post before realizing I did not blog yesterday!

As I was going through my images, I found some funny and unusual images I shot while I was on my way to a wedding.

You never know what you will find at a wedding :P

As I was reaching the wedding venue in Santa Barbara, I saw this sign.

However, this is what we found! He was right in front of our car for about 2 minutes. I took this photo right after he went up the hill. He was a camera friendly deer. I thought he would get scared once it heard the shutter, but, nope, it did not!

Finally, as I was leaving, I saw a herd of cows!

I am glad I did not see this on my way to the wedding!!!

It's funny to see the "things" you can find at weddings!

Oooooh...the pain!

I just got back from today's wedding. Everything was so gorgeous and the dancing was non-stop! I had a lot of fun photographing everyone.

As soon as I got here I literally ran to the bed. My heels hurt oh so bad!!! The agony, I tell ya! It's unbelievable how sore one can be after photographing a wedding. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband that massages my aching feet :) "The heel, Art! The heel!" That's what Art has been hearing for about 10 minutes now.

I am about to watch a movie and hopefully doze off fairly quick, but not before I post a photo from the wedding.

I loved this cake topper! You usually see the one of the bride pulling the groom, but this is the first time I see this version! So funny!

I'll post some more images during the week.

Nighty night!

On the go!

I am so excited! Today I will be photographing my first wedding of the year. It has been almost 2 months since I last photographed a wedding! I purposely took December completely off since I had worked so hard throughout 2007. I'm glad I did because now I feel fresh and energized!

This year I have made some changes that will allow me to still breathe even during wedding season. For one, I will only do 3 weddings (at the most) a month during wedding season. I will also be outsourcing the album designing, which is a huge help!

Anyway, I have to get ready to go, go, go!

Because I did not want this to be another post without a photo, here's one of me :)

I wish I had a better photo to post, but I need to get ready.

Oops! Didn't blog yesterday!

The bad news: I fell asleep...I have no excuse for not posting yesterday :( Whenever I post on my blog, it’s usually pretty late. I always grab my laptop and head to bed to blog. This time it did not quite work out how it usually does. I grabbed my laptop, laid the laptop on Art’s side of the bed (he was downloading whatever new updates the iPhone has) and I laid down. That’s it. I do not recall anything else. I guess I was more tired than I realized!

The good news: To make it up to you, I will give away a free engagement/portrait session or Trash the Dress session to anyone who has contacted me before about booking a wedding date with me. Whether you are a current client, past client, future client or in the process of becoming a client, e-mail me.

The third e-mail I receive saying, “You need to blog everyday!” will be the one to get the free session. You can e-mail me at Be sure to include your name and contact info.

I will let you know as soon as I get the 3rd e-mail.

I can’t wait to see who gets the free photo session!!!

Fun in the snow

Big Bear, CA

Yesterday Art and I decided, spontaneously, that we were going to Big Bear for the day. I am so happy we did because I really needed a break! My cousin, sister-in-law and a friend joined us. We had so much fun sliding down the slopes, having snow ball fights and building a snowman. Unfortunately, Art got hurt and Steven ran into a tree...Why is it that nothing happened to us girls?

Here are some images from yesterday:

Right before we left to go have dinner, I had to take this photo of Art because the sun was glowing so beautifully!
